What is a Grace Team?
GRACE TEAM MISSION : Helping friends discover true freedom and life change through Jesus Christ.
Nobody likes to go to jail. Most polite people avoid even the thought of jail. Jesus had a different priority about people in prison or jail. In His parable about final judgment he put high priority on people who have special needs. In Matthew 25, he said, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father and take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world…for when I was in prison and you came to visit me… I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” Jesus understands our busyness and calls us to remember those who are incarcerated. In Minnehaha County there are about 400 prisoners less than 20 minutes from us and they need our witness and consideration.
Grace Team Jail Ministry has regular weekly Bible Studies in our jail and multiple weekly Bible studies in halfway houses throughout Sioux Falls. We mentor some friends who have been released from jail and we hope to expand that ministry in the future. Our faithful and growing team meets once a month to sharpen our ministries. Like the Marines, We need a few good men and women to serve with us. If you are interested in starting jail ministry out of your church, we would love to consult with you!
